Jesse Harrington
About Me
Jesse C. Harrington is a classically trained sculptor, engraver, second-generation woodworker, and draftsman. Based out of Birchrunville, Pennsylvania, Jesse's work bridges the worlds of fine art and functional craft. The one-of-a-kind objects he creates include, but are not limited to, sculpted knives, engraved jewelry with precious stone inlays, custom gold inlay designs on firearms, and sculpture in wood and/or metal. Each piece reflects Harrington's deep commitment to natural and figurative beauty, the precision of his craft, and the concept of permanence.
His artistic journey began while playing in the sawdust of his father’s wood shop. It progressed through the halls of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (America's oldest art institution) and at his father's woodworking shop where he honed his artistic eye and fine hand skills. Jesse came across the Art of Modern Engraving two years ago and has since merged his knowledge of 3-dimensional rendering with this medium that is typically perceived to be only 2-dimensional, resulting in engravings with sculpted figures and designs that embody grace, movement, and resilience.
Classes and Commissions
Private instruction from Jesse Harrington is available on Wednesday afternoons by appointment. Hand-push and pneumatic engraving stations are provided. Classes fill on a "first-come first-serve" basis. Call or email to make your appointment today.
