Jesse Harrington

​​Jesse C. Harrington is a classically trained sculptor, engraver, jewelry designer, and second-generation woodworker whose work bridges the realms of fine art and functional craft. Based in the pastoral village of Birchrunville, Pennsylvania, he creates one-of-a-kind objects that celebrate form, permanence, and the poetry of the handmade. His body of work includes sculpted knives, engraved jewelry with precious stone inlays, custom gold-inlay designs on firearms, and sculptural works in wood and metal. Each piece reflects his reverence for natural and figurative beauty—where metal breathes, light bends, and craftsmanship becomes meditation.

 

Jesse’s artistic path began in the sawdust of his father’s woodshop, where he first learned the rhythm of tools and the patience of process. That foundation deepened at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, America’s oldest art institution, where he trained in classical sculpture and draftsmanship. In recent years, he has expanded his practice to the art of modern hand engraving, merging his mastery of three-dimensional form with a medium often seen as purely two-dimensional. The result is a signature style of engraving—delicate yet dynamic—where figures and motifs seem to rise from the surface with movement and vitality.

 

From his barn studio in Birchrunville, Jesse continues to refine this union of old-world craftsmanship and contemporary vision. The studio serves not only as his creative workshop but also as a gathering space for intimate art showings, jewelry exhibitions, and seasonal events, offering visitors a glimpse into both the precision of his process and the quiet beauty of his rural surroundings.
